Elyse Palombit, Esq.
Elyse practices in the firm’s business law group, where she manages files principally involving intra-business conflict (fiduciary separation and corporate investigation), business-to-business disputes, and commercial loan defaults, as well as high asset commercial collections matters.
Some of Elyse’s recent representative engagements involve, inter alia, the following:
- Recovering through settlement hundreds-of-thousands of dollars in monies embezzled from business by fiduciaries, and forcing the resignation of their ownership for zero value
- Fiduciary separations, redemptions, and dissolutions with recent share value recoveries of $1,400,000 and $950,000
- Commercial collections of over $1.2 million through garnishment and bankruptcy claims
- Briefing in the Court of Appeals and Michigan Supreme Court in the precedential oppression case, Castle v. Shoham
Elyse builds upon a very successful law school resume, having graduated in the top 10% of her class at Wayne State University Law School. With writing and analytical skills that are second to none, she further distinguished herself in law school by serving as an editor for both the Wayne State Journal of Business Law and the Journal of Law in Society, participating in the Mock Trial program, and earning the Silver and Bronze Key Awards for outstanding legal scholarship.
In addition to her stellar academic performance and activities, Elyse gained experience during law school through her clerkship with the Wayne County Corporation Counsel, judicial internships with the Honorable Gerald E. Rosen (of the U.S District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan), and the Honorable Kirsten Frank Kelly (of the Michigan Court of Appeals), clerkships with several law firms in the Metro Detroit area, and as a research assistant.
Prior to law school, Elyse graduated from Michigan State University, where she earned a double major in Criminal Justice and Sociology.
Elyse recently presented at the State Bar of Michigan’s Second Annual Symposium on Corporate Oppression for the Business Law Section in Grand Rapids on the subject of recent developments in fiduciary law in the Business Courts.
In 2020, Elyse was selected to Super Lawyers as a Rising Star and further named to “The Annual List” of Top Women Lawyers in Business Litigation area of practice.
